You are what you consume.
When we become immersed in something dangerous, it's always subtle, and rarely intentional. But just as a destructive avalanche begins with just a few pebbles, so a destructive addiction begins with a small concession to sin.
That's why it's so important to check what we immerse ourselves in. Do you spend a lot of time online? How about the movies/video games you engage in? How does that compare to your time spent in God's word, or engaging at church?
Ouch. Perhaps we all need to re-examine in what we are immersed? Paul instructs us in Romans 12:1-2, "I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."
