Why would you place your most precious gem in a setting of clay?
The Eucharist is the most precious gem of the church. And it is given to you each time you attend mass. In a much the same way that a beautiful wedding ring features and enhances the beauty of the diamond as the diamond enhances the beauty of the bride, so the liturgy of the Word and Sacrament illumine the holy glory of the Eucharist and reveal the beauty of Christ's bride, the church. And in much the same way that a beautiful diamond in an artful setting gives joy and delight to bride and groom, both for its beauty and for its symbolism, so does the Eucharist give joy to Christ and his bride.
But the Enemy hates it, in the same way a discarded suitor hates the chosen groom. Full of selfish jealousy , he whispers in itching ears, "You can worship God however you please, you don't need church!" "But Sunday is your only day to sleep in." "All this pomp and ceremony seems pointless." Are you letting the enemy steal your joy? Listen and learn at www.QCAradio.com.
